Parashah Beha’alotcha begins with the lighting of the menorah and the consecration of the Levites, preparing the community for movement. The people set out from Sinai, guided by the cloud of God’s presence.
Yet as the journey begins, complaints and dissatisfaction arise, revealing the struggle of leaving behind old ways. God provides manna and leadership support through the elders, but also disciplines rebellion. The parashah highlights the tension between divine guidance and human resistance.
